Churches, schools, parachurch organizations, social service agencies, businesses, and hospitals meet peoples needs by providing a variety of services and products. While each organization has a specialized function, unique culture, and diverse resources, there are also a significant number of similarities, including complex human and political dynamics, diverse values and goals, and specialized technologies and skills. Christians in positions of leadership need to develop the skills required to work in collaboration with diverse groups of people, create a healthy and productive environment, and cultivate transformational change that leads to long-term viability and effectiveness.
This program泭is泭designed for professionals who desire a better understanding of organizational dynamics泭and who value collaboration with and insight from experienced peers. The educational approach of this program recognizes that all adult students possess insight and experience which, when shared with others, is a valuable contribution to the overall learning process. Students are provided with an environment that encourages reflection, innovation, dialogue, interdependency, and skill development.

John Covone
Associate Dean; Chair, Accounting Department; Associate Professor, School of Business
Professor Covone teaches accounting, finance, and business-related classes. As a professor, he believes in fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills within the classroom. Professor Covone believes in the axiom great learning can start by asking great questions and he encourages that of his students. Professor Covone had worked for over 30 years in accounting and management within the buildings materials manufacturing, and aerospace & defense industries.
Prior to teaching at Cairn, Professor Covone had 20 plus years teaching both undergraduate and graduate students at various colleges throughout the Philadelphia region.

Our program is intentionally grounded in Gods Word. Courses are thoughtfully designed by Cairn faculty to promote deep learning and active engagement through instructor-led instruction, research-driven activities, active learning, and meaningful interactions with peers and faculty.泭At Cairn, the students education and experience is designed to shape泭Christian character, cultivate wisdom, and prepare them to think, live, and serve biblically in an ever-changing world.
All courses, except the research courses, are structured in seven units and delivered in accelerated 7-week terms.
Each unit contains 57 modular activities, including:
- Assigned readings and reading reflections
- Instructional videos from Cairn faculty
- Active learning activities
- Weekly application projects
- A component of the ongoing course research project
Faculty also schedule a few optional Zoom sessions throughout the term to connect with students and address questions.
Faculty are actively involved throughout the weekguiding learning activities, leading asynchronous discussions, grading work, and delivering personalized feedback. Online students also receive priority technical support and have access to valuable resources from the Masland Library and the Writing Lab.
Cairn is approved to offer financial aid because of its regional accreditation. There are many options available and typically students qualify for at least one type of federal aid. Many students receive scholarships and grants that make earning their degree even more affordable. Cairn offers a variety of scholarships and discounts in addition to options for loans and grants.
